Exclamation Huge Election in Massachusettes Tuesday

Could the Dems actually lose our 60 votes?

Could Martha Coakley actually lose Ted Kennedy's seat?

How is this possible? Or is this just a media manufactured issue to get us all to watch MSNBC for continued coverage, in between the Haiti disaster, to buy more corporate product, and keep consuming the news.

Mass. voters must know how important this is. Or will Obama be able to push thru his healthcare bill before Tuesday's vote, in case Martha loses????

It's a nail-biter, ain't it? The polls are all over the place. Well, I hope Obama's campaigning helps her.

But what good has the 60-vote majority done us, yet? We haven't used the dreaded reconciliation process, and there hasn't been a filibuster mounted. But I guess it's all about to happen.

Default Get rid of the Filibuster rule

Majority rules. Isn't that the heart of democracy? And since when is 60 the majority out of 100? 51 does it according to the old math.

I think the Repubs do use the filibuster rule constantly. The corporate media just doesn't report that, dwell on that, explain that to us, the masses, WE THE PEOPLE.

God knows--the dems have sunk to record setting lows of late, all in their single minded efforts to advance an agenda that the country has no intereset in. They filibustered bush judicial nominees for the first time ever and then to now resort to reconciliation (normally only used for budgetary bills) to push their pig of a health care bill through would set the stage for an absolute blow up of their entire corrupt party. Desperation is not a positive image to present to the american public, especially when that public has discovered the real far left face of obama and the democrats. Too bad the swamp mates cannot bring yourselves to watch fox news more often. Britt hume actually made the comment that losing the election in mass. could be a good thing for the dems, as it would relieve some of the pent up anger that is now busting out towards the democrat party.

Default Why do we need 60 votes to get anything done?

Democracy is about Majority Rules!

51 is the majority out of 100 Senators. This stupid filibuster rule must go so we can have progress. The idea behind being a Progressive is to progress as a nation. Republicans just obstruct. Conservatives want no change at all.

Healthcare for a profit. That's what neocons want. No other industrialized nation in the frickin world has that but us. Think about it.

Most people don't care. Apathy reigns. This election in Mass. is a great example of this. If Coakley loses, well, it's over. The Big Corporations will have won again.

Britt Hume, the crusading Christian? The one who told Tiger to give up on Buddhism because Christianity is the better religion?

The country is split between you conservatives, my progressives, and the big mass in the middle who don't follow the news. Obama is hardly a Progressive. He's a centrist like Clinton was. He's a politician trying to get the big middle without losing his base, his progressive base.

Name one progressive thing Obama has done. We surely don't like his escalation of the war in afghanistan. His healthcare isn't single payer, isn't a public option, doesn't expand Medicare. Name something progressive. You can't. His top adviser is Rom Emanuel, the Clinton adviser, a centrist at best.

Would this be the same "Big Corporations" that are in kahoots with the WH and Dems to put together that stink-hole healthcare bill?

All of the most bloodthirsty socialist monsters of the 20th century--considered themselves--progressives. Glad to see that you finally decided, for once in your unfulfilled life, to fess up to the truth and your affinity to the progressive lifestyle. And that big mass in the middle that don't follow the news--they just voted brown into office, are the ones that support 32 states that have legislated marriage as between a man and a woman, don't support assembly line abortion and generally--foot the bills for the disasters that progressive legislation/judicial dictates has brought down on their heads.
You don't understand that the filibuster rule is a two edged sword that has benefited the dems as much as it has cost them? It's part of the process--and for you idiots to cry foul when the cost is not what you want to tolerate, just reveals that you are too intolerant to be a part of this society. There are greener pastures for you choose from in the wide, wide world; places more acceptable of your over expecting, under achieving lifestyle of sloth and complaint. Time to chose, since it does look like you progressives just may be in for a rough ride.

The only reason why that racist brown won is because the voters were too afraid of electing a woman.
